Had2,

Mid week the ice was still unsafe. I have a friend that lives on the point. There is an area a few hundred feed off shore that has some current and is always the last area to freeze. It's between Sherman's point ramp and Sherman's point.

Personally, I'm staying away from the area until next weekend.

Looked like there were people out there yesterday, but that doesnt mean it is safe. I would take a spud anywhere right now.

Had2,

I was out between Shermans point and Thompsons, closer to Sherman's and there was a good 5" of ice. I was surprise to see that much after reports from a friend earlier in the week. His location was close to Sherman's where current may keep ice thinner close to shore.

Always be safe. Oh ya, one fish between two guys, about 4 lbs. Slow unless you like catching perch. Out 3 hours on Saturday morning.

Today, installed an under-counter microwave for the wife. Hope to be on the ice next weekend both days.
