Hey all, great site.

Fairly new to the walleye this time of year on Quinte. Curious what the usual timeframe of this Migration.

When do you usually see the bigguns concentrate shallower? West of the Ferry.

The past 2 weekends we have been fishing 80 - 100ft east of the Ferry.

We saw a raft of boats off the points, guessing to hide from the wind, is this the area referred to those as the "jiggers". We got a few fish on the boards on the outter edges. Then went back out deep for the biggies.

Towards ice up would a safe guess be the fish make their way down through the points and the hay bay area...? Is there a concentration of fish that make it further?

Thanks for any heads up.

Hey Phil welcome aboard!

I've found they tend to come in further the later it gets. Some will tell you the best fishing can be just as the ice starts to form in around Picton Bay area. But then, most people are off the water by then. The die hards who do venture forth, usually do really well.

Some of the older posts from this time last year will give you tonnes of info, if you can find the time to read them :!:

Later,

WIG

Wig hit it on the head, the colder it gets the hotter the fishing. Many of the walleyes are already up into thr reach/hay bay and in Belleville. They seem to come in waves. I've had many many hot days just before ice-up.
