Heading out to Sherman's pt. tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone knew what the ice is like?? Any help is much appreciated!

This is only hear say, but i was told its thin in spots. a buddy of mine normaly puts a hut out.
he lives on shermans i asked him tonight, and he said he went for a walk and found 2- 4 inches.
so diffently spud your way out and be safe if you do go.
