The water is open in front of the ferry even up to a couple hundred yards west but the ferry ramp is pooched as it's jammed with ice.

Hope this helps.

Cheers G.

thanks gman, winds yesterday were blowing over 80km with the open water in front you would think that it would have completely pounded on the shoreline and opened up. I seen the pictures fron superdad last week there is not much ice on the ramp, kinda lol
cheers

I don't think that ferry ramp is going to be free anytime soon even with the wind as you also need wave action. Even with the high winds yesterday there's not enough open water west of ferry to allow the waves to build and do any type of damage to the packed ice -it was pretty solid Friday and it's pretty sheltered area.

cheers G.

Thanks again g-man, I am shooting for Thurs. winds only 10km with no probblem getting past the gap after splashing at finkles.I just finished watching your video(amazing) and noticed you were just west of the gap.Looks loke 1 more week of mild weather and I would love to get on the boat one more time. We all know how late the fish are this year and the pigs you hit show it.
cheers
