Quinte Fishing

Guys and Girls,

Do you think investing $500 on an underwater camera
is a good idea. I would think it would be a great addition
to the ice fishing arsenal.

Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with them?
What about types? Are AquaView models the best?

For ice fishing yes, I would think they can be handy. I can't see them being much benefit for trolling, casting.

Going jigging for Walleye, Crappie, absolutely!

Now, I don't own one so maybe I'd feel different after utilizing one!

The pros use em when they're prefishing for a tournie to confirm what the graph shows em.

At least that's what I read on the walleyelist from Darryl Christensen.

You could differenicate from walleye and sheepshead

I've used them for several years and they can be a great tool. My personal fav is the Atlantis. One thing that you'll have to be aware of is that with those cameras you will find yourself spending too much time watching TV and missing bites. Like most who have tried them we all end up back with our trusty Vexilars. You just can't beat them out on the ice. I have to admit though it's pretty cool to watch 7 or 8 big whitefish swimming around your baits in 80 feet of water. It proved that although we could not entice them to bite they were there.

i just got back from bass pro and they have them on at 299.00 go on there web site and check them out.

This morning I tried to order an Aqua-View system
from Bass Pro Shops and found it was a restricted
item. It cannot be shipped to Canada. I checked
Cabelas and found the same thing. I contacted
Quinte Outdoor Store in Belleville to see if they can
get them.

Bush must have tagged them as spy ware or another
weapon of mass distruction.

Does anyone know of a canadian supplier other than
driving though the traffic to our new canadian Bass Pro
Shops ? If Quinte Outdoors cannot get them I'll try
contacting the canadian Bass Pro Shop directly.

I just bought a Vexilar yesterdayat BPS. There were several camera models in the display case beside the Vexilar.

Just bought the Aqua-vu Scout at the BPS. Nice machine. $299.00. can't wait to try it in Quinte Wen,Thur,Fri.

Thanks for the input,

I ended up with an last years model on sale. The
new models including the Scout have the fish shaped
cameras. They look so much like fish I was afraid
a Musky would eat it. You never know.

I ended up with a MC2X-120 Aqua-Vu. It has the
older style camera.

I hope the camera will complement my Vexilar FL-18.

I hope they do not cause interference between each other.
