Hey guys,

I just wanted to share a story with you from this past weekend....

On Friday we had a hut and flasher stolen from us by 2 guys in a camouflage hut (turkey ground blind) driving a white 97-02 Ford F-150.

These guys trespassed across a private access point and decided to help themselves to a loaded hut containing the flasher unit, just after dark as we were making runs back and forth hauling gear.

They were parked right behind us on private land and must not have thought we noticed we were the only 2 there and they were unlawfully trespassing.

After getting over the initial shock of losing over $1000 worth of gear we started to quietly put the word out about the incident.

Saturday morning we received a report that the camo hut was on the ice again in a different area and a different vehicle, BUT these clowns decided to try out their hot new piece of electronics. The Napanee OPP were soon on the scene and upon a quick search of these guys gear, it was determined the flasher in their possession was mine as serial numbers matched.

A short time after this, the missing hut was returned by these guys as well. Of course they didn't actually steal our gear, they got it from one of their brother's neighbours....yada yada BS. The investigation is still ongoing, but we're pretty sure "who dunit."

A couple huge thank-you's to the Quinte Ice Fishing Team as well as the Napanee OPP for their help.....we'd be out some serious cake without you guys!

Stay safe on the ice guys and keep and eye on your gear at all times.

That's a good thing - getting the gear back and thieves were caught.

David aka Superdad

PS Had the truck stolen last May right in front of our trailer - they got him that night also.

i guess chatting with the opp is a better idea than drilling holes all around their hut, maybe if a second offence occurs??? Just kidding, i had a camera grabed last year, the frustrating thing for me was that they didn't even know what they were taking as they left the battery sitting beside it.

I'm glad you got your stuff back, nothing more invasive than someone stealing from you.

nice to see culprits get caught. Hope they publish thier names. They've earned the right to be publicly embarrassed in my opinion. Glad you got your equipment back !

So glad these guys were caught. Why do people think they can take whatever they want? People work hard for their stuff and everyone should respect that!

Good to hear you got it back! Crazy how big of dirtbags some people can be, hopefully they were over 18 and this moment of stupidity will stay with them forever.

Great to see you get your stuff back. Also nice to see these dummies get nailed and i hope they throw the book at them. I had some problems like this last year at Wagers Parking lot and lost quite a bit of expensive gear. These guys would wait until everyone was out on the Ice then out came the slim jim and the shopping spree was on. They also were caught when the OPP in a plain car watched them in action. The lot there now is watched pretty good by a couple of locals....
