Hello all,
Hit the Picton Harbour from the launch to the cement plant pretty hard last night from 18:00-24:00 hrs and got skunked, not even a sniff. My buddies and I had 2 boats in and they also didn't get even a hit. We were only trolling (shad raps, walley divers, redfins, etc...) and saw lots of other boats out there doing the same. I also think I saw a few bots out there jiggin' but wasn't sure. I only heard of one fish comin out of there last night. I read lots of good recent reviews before headin' out and was pretty pumped to go (Picton trips are not so frequent these days and was looking forward to the rare chance to gettin' out).
Anyone know if still lines/jiggin' is working better than the troll right now? Any particular lure patterns workin' better than others at the moment (mind you I tried darn near all I had last night)?
Also I think I'm gonna be hittin' the ferry docks from shore over the next few evenings ( boat's ready for winter storage), any updates, suggestions for these spots.
Couldn't complain about the weather last night though - calm as glass, moon shinin' and above 0 all night.
Thanks in advance for any comments.
Hopps

Hey Hopps,

The jiggers are a quiet crowd around here. I have seen many boats jigging the south shore last weekend especially. As well just west of the ferry. Marking a lot of fish in there as well.

We ourselves were trolling them but, there were people jigging for sure.

I'm hoping to get some night fishing in for the first time this year, next weekend. We've been doing only day fishing with limited to good success so far. Going to stick with the troll however.

Goodluck on the docks :!:

Thanks for the reply Wall-I. First time I actually posted somethin' to the Board.
Glad to hear you've been grabbin' a few during the daylight hours.
I think I'll probably take the whole arsenal of jiggs and cranks with me to the shore line. Of course, being sure not to fish where guys are launching in and out of (don't get me goin' about the hassle we had last night trying to get our boats out while 3 guys refused to give us an inch of space on the dock in the harbour).
Any suggestions on colours/plastics?
Good luck on the weekend with the night hunt.

Thanks Hopps,

 Well I'd certainly throw some minnows at 'em on either a yellow or white grub to start. Has worked well in the past :!: As you say, throw the arsenal at 'em :!:

Goodluck :!:
