Just returned to Illinois Wednesday night after a week of great fishing on BOQ. This was my first trip to Quinte and I was totally impressed with the fishery and the people of Picton and the surrounding area. My partner and I managed 58 walleyes in the 6 1/2 days that we fished and had 33 over 10 pounds. I got my personal best with a 13# 12 Oz. walleye last Friday. I also got a 32 3/4 inch walleye last Wednesday that I'm sure was a male because it was milting all over. I did not think males got that large. Got all of our fish trolling cranks on Off Shore boards. All fish were released to be caught on another day. Met Hay Bay Larry at the launch and exchanged pleasant ideas. Great Place, great people, and we can't wait for next year. CPR...the only way to fish. :D

CONGRATS on the great catch CKRanger. I was really impressed that all fish were returned to the swim. We need more anglers like that who return the trophies. Keep the little ones.

It was well worth the fourteen hour drive, believe you me. If our experience can be of any help to those that had struggled last week on Quinte, let me say this. Our daily success varied from a 5 fish day to one day where we actually boated twenty walleyes with 12 going over the 11 pound mark. It was incredible. But we had days that were filled with frustrating hours of little or no activity. The thing that we continued to do was to keep changing locations, keep changing amount of line back from the boards and experiment with colors of lures. Once we got something going we would get another lure to that depth and tried to pay attention to details. We also feel that we prompt many strikes by doing S-turns that speed up the boards on one side while slowing the boards down on the opposite side. We feel that it is never a good idea to just troll in a sraight line. Best of luck to you all for the rest of the season. I will try to get a couple pictures posted but I will need the help of my son. I'm not sure how to do it.
