Laker John and I were able to get over to Picton Bay on Friday evening for some pre-fishing for the Quinte Weekend
We launched in Picton and fished from 1730 to 2115, stayed completly in the Bay and fished mainly the east side.
I hooked and landed a nice fish on a Smithwick Deep Diving Rogue at 1845. Marking a lot of fish in 20 - 25' depths.
Didn't see many flashes going off in the other boats.
We got out Saturday AM, launching at Shermans and heading over to the west shore of Long Reach. Marked many fish and fished over them, saw a multitude of boats at Thompsons; but avoided the boat traffic.
Laker John hit a pair, one at 10lbs and the other around 7lbs(I say around as the fish slipped off the hook bringing it to the net.)
We headed to Dad's Inn for lunch and it was raining when we got back out, disgression is the better part of valour, so we headed back to the launch ramp and packed it in before everything got so wet it wouldn't dry by next Fri. Off the water at 1430.
We've Picton scouted and have some other spots ready for the 'big' weekend friendly gettogether.
