Took advantage of a beautiful day!! And I am sure glad that I did! At the same time, got the chance to try out my new floatsuit, but luckily not in the water

It appears that some of the big fish have started their migration up the bay. Armed myself with my full arsenal of tackle, had a dozen of shiner minnows and headed towards Northport. Arrived at launch and set off at 1100 am. Tried trolling around the Northport shoal with no luck . Marked some fish. Tried jigging with minnows no luck. Headed over to Trident point and then ran all the way down to Fosters and fishing around the Q42 buoy using jiggin spoons and minnows. Marked all kinds but no takers except for about 5 puny perch :P Tried around the canning factory, Hills side but marked nyada

Decided to head back to where I had marked fish. My first pass trolling a white bucktail and minnow resulted in this fish

A nice pike measuring at 31 inches!!. kind of dragged it in like it was an old rubber boot...no fight :?:

Ran off to another previous visited spot. Between 130 and 200 picked up two nice walleye. First one around 29 inches longImage

What a football 8O She was almost as big around as long!!
shocked the occupants of another boat nearby as I quickly tried to snap a picture by myself and quickly and gently put the big girl back to the water :D Within 10 minutes another one hit my jig/minnow combo..this girl around 30.5 inchesImage

Talking about fight!! took about 4 minutes landing her with the wind pushing the boat !! The pike should of taken lessons from her!

Took a quick picture (figured how to use the timer on the darn camera), and let her swim for another day. Felt good about letting her go!!

I would like to thank everyone for their help on this sight. It was mentioned a week or go, that the fish should be heading up the bay soon so I took the hunch and was rewarded. Thanks again!!

Glad to see someone fishing further up the bay and getting some nice fish.

I know that they're up there and no one from the board has been reporting on the activities up that way.

Nice Pix - Great day on the water

Magfishnet7,
Hey way to go!! I have been hearing some stuff offline about the fish closer in to belleville. Sounds like you had your hands full. Fishing, netting and pictures all singlehanded. Man Cheers to you bud ( insert sound of glasses colliding). Years ago we use to have great luck at rush bar and the belleville brigde jigging with spoons and minnows. I just might have to go out and give it a go.
