25's do work. Natural colours seem to work best. Actually there are days when 25's work best.

All of my bigger fish this year have come on the same size lure (mann's 20) but on one particular colour.

Hi Wall I Guy. I could elaborate but if do here is what I believe. I will be handicapping your experience. Trial and error are the best confidence builders. I gave two vital pieces of info already. 1) they work 2 ) natural colours work best. With those 2 peices of the puzzle you just have to add TIME and EXPERIMENTATION and you will come up with a PERSONAL experience. Any specifics I give will never replace your own epiphanies as you trial and error your way to success.

I was probably one of the first guys to run in-line boards for Quinte fish. Do you know how hard it was not to just go jig the Belleville bridge when I was first trying them out? Man It was tough. What I actually had to do was leave all my other gear at home for a weekend and take nothing but boards ,cranks and trolling rods with me. It worked. I got 2 fish the first weekend. My advice...try running all 25's for a full day and see how stressful it is not to revert back to TRUSTED TACTICS. It will make you feel alive ,I guarantee it.

It seems to me that if you are running 25's, you are also going to have to increase your line diameter and/or run them on short leads to keep them up in the water column. Unless you are running them to go deep rather than for the size of bait.

I used to catch some pretty massive red fish when I was a kid using what we called "bread balls"--which are exactly what they sound like, bread balled up. The bread balls were tiny but the red fish loved to bite it!

Hi South,

I can't say I have had any success with the Stretch 25's or even the 20's for that matter but 2 years ago at the 'Merland Get Together' the largest fish was caught on a Bagleys DB6 (previously used for Musky fishing) in firetiger. That fish (dare I say the infamous 'Ghost' fish) was caught by yours truly, 13.5 lbs. The Bagley has a real nice lateral line vibration which proved to make the difference that year. The fish was caught in Picton Bay just out in front of Merland Park at approx. 8pm.

Tightlines,
Parky :D

Markus,
I was hoping you guys would stop by in the evening at Merlands. Sorry I wasnt there when you did stop by. We hold the fish fry around 2pm so the guys can get back out for the afternoon bite. Now the spinnerbait thing. Are you kidding? I have caught lots of eyes over the years on spinnerbaits. There was a group up ealier this fall who were running spoons on the riggers and did very well. Have you tried that

Dan, I don't want to give out too much detail on the spinner bait...apparently targa2 and the other folks need to earn that info.

As for the spoons, I've never ran spoons in quinte, but while fishing bows on Lake Erie I pick up lots of incidental walleye on them.

I wish I could have meet yourself, superdad and got to say hi to some of my last cull buddies that were there. Next year! :P We had a blast at the Tip of the Bay though!!
