in the second bass tournament last summer, it appears the winning bag was 35.49 ... is that for one day, six fish? Thats almost six pound AVERAGE?

Is this correct, or was it a combined weight?

Steve,
That tournament was the third of the season and was a 2 day tournament. Are you considering joining the series for next season? I can tell you as one who has fished this series since its inception it is a top notch series with a great group of guys. Pete Thompson is the Director and he brings years of experience with him from when he ran the chevy/Mercury Bass Tour.

i'm definately considering it.

here's a few more q's if you dont mind...

is the tourney serious? I've fished three CFT Bass Tourneys (sparrow, tri lakes, and erie) and i didn't enjoy any of them. Way too serious. Guys aren't willing to help, just criticize and mock (who ever has the fanciest boat wins, and if someone wins who isn't part of the clique, they cheated) ...

I really like BoQ bass fishing. I'd be fishing these tourneys not to win (it would be nice but...), but to learn how to improve my bass skills in Quinte.

Personally, i believe Quinte has the best bass fishing in Ontario (yes Erie produces hawg smallies, but its boring fishing for them in 30+ feet of water, dragging tubes) ...

I've only spent one year fishing for the bass, and we did Very well (or what i consider well anywayz) ....

Is that price quoted for the two anglers for all the tourneys or just per tourney?

Finally, i'm not much of a walleye fisherman....but i have a friend who is....

Is it possible to have him fish w/ me for the walleye tourney, but have my normal partner for the bass sections of the tourneys?

I'm honestly just looking for a fun time tournament, where i can meet some new people, learn some new techniques, and generally have a good time...

I'm not looking intense competition, constant cheating accusations, bickering, and other common characteristics of other Ontario bass tournaments....

Thanks for any help and info,

Steve

I am the same as you in that it would be great to win but I really go to have a good time and compete against myself by trying to raise the bar. I hear your comments re some of the cliques and accusation of cheating etc. I think you will find there's one in every crowd. I distance myself from that type. I think we have alot of quality guys. I have a few who I speak openly with about spots, whats working whats not ect. They share in return and we all try and grow. The price quoted is 150 per team for a single one day tourney and 220 per team for a single 2 day event. The cost for the whole season for a team is $1040.00 plus membership fee (30-50 bucks). The nice thing about the series is you can make it as serious or not as you want and its only 1 body of water(a big one) that you have to focus on. You can change partners for each event or keep the same partner its up to you. Hope to see you out there. If yuo have any more questions fire away
Dan

I`ll be fishing the first one on the 26th of June but am not quite sure of the rest. Top bass I here is coming to quinte for 2 1 day events so i`ll be there again for that. The only real thing I question about the tournies on quinte are the fact that some people choose to go beyond quinte and out to Lake Ontario. Not to say that this isn`t fair but isn`t it a little immoral to say fish the June 26 tourney and go catch smallmouth off the beds in lake ontario....all to be released in quinte that would have a huge temp. differance and negatively effect the fish. What are other peoples thoughts on this? should they or should they not impose limits.... say nothing passed the ferry... how could they even enforce?? Sometimes I feel a little dismayed when they have a tourney on the opener.... who knows who tries to pre-fish. If everyone obeyed I think its great cause then everyone is equal as no-one has pre-fished and it makes it that much more interesting.
Lets have some more input....
what do you think Dan... since you have fished these often.
I believe the bay itself is a great fishery so why do they run that far and risk hurting those fish that could be even in pre spawn or spawning fish.
The temp. change could easily be what....? 15- 20 degrees.
