Well just to add a bit more, 2 guys at work called the same MNR 1-800-667-1940 number today just to see what was up. ( We obviously aren't real busy at work lol). The one county boy (B Shephard) was put through to the Wildlife Mangement unit ( a lady) and was told yes it was legal to hunt the extended season in area 70 including on Sunday and that the MNR officer was wrong. We even gave her the warden's name "VanActon?". Smitty, the other guy was told he could not by a different person( a guy) after calling the exact same number. So if you want to call your selves and check it out this was the number they called. It looks like there is 3 different management units involved in this and they are not on the same page. Maybe they will allow it by default on their part.

save yourself the fine and dont hunt in the county its not legal lol, otherwise why would i be driving an hour on saturday morning to hunt

Well this just gets better and better. Some county boys went with what they were told on the phone and went extended goose hunting in the county on Sunday. The MNR Officer showed up and asked what they were doing? When they said they called in and was told it was legal they went hunting, Vanacton asked them who they called and they gave him the number which he called right then and there on his cell. He made out like he was just another Joe and was told "yes you can extended goose hunt in area 70 even on Sunday. He gave the person on the phone his name rank and serial number and said that this needs further investigation. He couldn't charge anyone but said to stop doing it and was going to post some notices in the paper and radio warning people it is not open to hunt. Good thing for the boys he got the woman that said yes and not the guy that said no, a risk I wouldn't be willing to take.

I saw an article in the Kingston paper on that last week saying no goose season there...

It is clear enough in the Federal migratory bird regulations and the MNR do not have say on Migratory birds. The MNR state that in their own regs as well.

Sorry if you know them, and no bad intentions against them based on what you said, but I wouldn't be offended if they and the MNR person they talked to were charged.

It really makes me wonder what some people are thinking. If folks would do even a little reading of the published regulations they would read "An extended season applies only where sunday gun hunting is NOT permitted". I'm not even sure why someone would need to call the MNR about this as it is clearly posted in the Migratory Bird Regulations and if you bought a bird stamp you were given the regulations.

I'm also baffeled why the MNR would even answer that question. Their response should have been "We do not set the Migratory Bird Regulations, please contact the Canadian Wildlife Service and consult the Sunday gun hunting bylaw in the area you wish to hunt".
