I just wanted to let folks know that if you didnt attend the mtg last night you missed some excellent presentations. They updated us on the status of pretty well every fish species living in zone 20, including bait fish populations and right down to the populations of tiny organisms that are the foundation to the food web and how the food web is changing. Overall Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte are in good shape. Stocking programs by species and locations with comparions to the efforts of our US counterparts was presented. Other topics included ; impacts of invasive species (fish hook flea, zebra mussels, gobies just to name a few), rationale for the bass season change, rationale for the Musky size change, history and type of work done by the Glenora fisheries station and much more. Tonight they are in Oshawa. I highly recommend to anyone they attend if they can.

Sounds like a very informative meeting! Is there any way of getting a synopsis of the meeting?

It was excellent and I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to come over and say hello to Dan and the other board members...I'm up against a deadline right now, but my plan is to write a couple of small 500 word stories about the info I was able to get in the first 90 minutes or so...It may not run in our paper until next week, but I will have some synopsis in the near future...

Makeralaker... if you E-mail FMZ20@ontario.ca, I'm sure they could send the entire power point presentation via E-mail. Dave

Well guys from the consensus, Belleville had the largest crowd of the 4 OMNR Public Information Sessions. I am amazed that the largest attendance came from the smallest area.
I would have guessed Port Credit would have had the largest attendance, after all that is the Salmon Capital of Ontario.

I would like to thank all those that attended and Dan for promoting it on the forum.

Al
