I do the same Larry; have to go thru the reservation to get to the RV near Wellington. I fill seven cans with gas or whatever I have used the week before have a syphon system that works well. I just couldn't fish if had to use Marina priced gas which would be additional 10 to 15 cents a litre over gas station prices. Our boat is not in the water when filling so no concern about spillage which really never happens anyway.

I also run the 9.9hp Yamaha kicker which really helps big time. Plan on fishing as much as ever, but costs are increasing at the camp and of course gas something might have to give, hopefully not yet.

I simply dont get it.... If gas prices were down and taxes were less... the more money we are going to spend on other things which inturn keeps the economy going.
Years ago I would finish work @ 2:30 on the day shift, swing home pick the boat up trailer an hour(more/less) and be on one of the Kawarthas til 10pm. Would buy gas up there, coffee, maybe a sub. With the price of gas now...No way!!! and all those towns suffer IMHO, and I m just one guy. I am sure others used to do this as well or maybe still do.

I have put a new boat on hold too, partly because of gas prices. Obviously wont be able to fish as much as I want either....cuz if I could, I would fish everyday!!!!

Nope. It will not affect my fishing, I have waited all winter for my
time on the water. But I will boycott the major gas stations and buy from
smaller gas stations. That may help to start a gas war . (my thinking)

Regards

Won't change a thing. Got Hondas on my boat and it is amazing how great they r on fuel. There are a lot of other places to cut back before fishing! Lol
