This link was on the Simcoe board but I am sure alot of those on this board fish the hard water.

This is a must watch.

Thanks OrangePeal, I just watched the video and was amazed at the info. I have a diploma in Outdoor Recreation and and have spent many of days in the winter X-skiing, hiking , and hunting in conditions that would boggle the average stay at home person, but I have now seen new info I can teach to people to help save their lives. I especially like the part of staying calm for the intial minute to get over the shock period. A must watch for everyone. Remember to all waiting for the hard water, we have loved ones at home when we leave waiting for us to return home.

Having fell through the ice on a solo trip many years ago on Lower Kananaskis Lk in AB., I am always happy to see warnings. I got lucky and got out.
- temp was ard. -15-20'C
- ice nearby was about 18" thick
- location was near an inflow with current

Please be safe....when I come home for Christmas I welcome going fishing but continue to be as safe as possible. I encourage people everywhere to be wise in what conditions and where they choose to fish.

Regards
Don Stokes

OrangePeel...Thanks for the post......What an important perspective that each one of us should consider and think about. Everyone that ventures out in Winter activities should watch this.
