Hey Fish Hound,

Here ya go!

First, you need a place to store the photos. An outfit like, myfishingpictures.com does it for free. There are others but the names escape me right now.

You sign up and they provide you with the space to store them. Once you've uploaded them to your account at myfishingpictures.com you will be provided with a link. Each link (or photo tag line) will look like this.... http://www.myfishingpictures.com/img/036987.jpg

So now you have the info needed to post the photo. You need one of these addresses for each photo you want to post.

This address I'm showing you is coming up as a "clickable" link because I have not put any tags on it.

Let's pretend you want to make a post with a photo. We'll use the same link as above as if it were you that stored it at myfishingpictures.com.

Sample:

Here's a picture of the fish I (Fish Hound) caught today!

Now you click the Img box above (they're in the boxes below the subject line while you're making a post!)

So you click Img, once.

then insert your photo tag, like this

http://www.myfishingpictures.com/img/036987.jpg

then once more click Img, only this time it will come up /Img .

The slash finishes the command line you're after.

So you're finished tag line should look like this...a photo your linking too!

Image

DO it once or twice while structuring a post, it'll be second nature after a couple tries.

Now if you right click on the photo itself, you'll see the tag line linking to that particular photo. Remember, this link is preceeded by Img and followed by /Img to make the photo actually show up!!

Goodluck!

Feel free to drop a line if you need clarification!

Sometimes the sites where the pictures are posted WILL NOT PERMIT another site to access the picture. MSN has the Groups blocked such that you can't use the URL from MSN to post to another site.

There's a code in the web site which doesn't allow looking from other websites (guards against XXX use)

Perhaps that's why you can't use that site.

Het Stormsearch,

I don't see the square brackets. Did you put them in?

example

then it should come up. If not, there's an issue with the place your storing the photo.

To check if it's that, try making another post using my photo line tag in my post above. Just right click my little photo and use that line. Press "Preview" when you make the new post to see if it's working. If it is, just cancel the post

If you can get my photo to come up, your doing it right.

Hope I haven't confused you!

Yeah I tried all kinds of formats starting with the standard [img] buttons. Will have to upload these pic's to another site. Thanks.

When you look at the properties of the picture, it shows it an HTML document.

I checked some of the pix that I have and they indicate JPG document in their properties.

Perhaps that's the reason and unless you can post that pix to another web board, the Website has blocked the use of that pix from being accessed by another board.

Not that much a techie.
