how was fishing last weekend, water temp etc?

how was fishing this past weekend, what is the water temps now, and how was the ramp at tip of bay? i plan trip for this tues, wed if weather is half decent, . do you need sand and salt at tip of bay ramp yet? any info appreciated , thankx steve.

Wish I could give ya a report but we didn't make it out.
You got the 4x4 right? What do you need salt for?
Time to buy a winch for the front !

Looking for the temps also as next weekend is not out of the question yet.

Fishing "Hard Going". Be prepared to wash a lot of lures for a few fish.
Out Dec.5. Wind from north/west, 0 in morning -2, by 2.30 when we pulled out. Water tmp. 38 in picton bay 39 on windward side. Was out on Tuesday, Nov 30. Temp was 45.
Ramp good in harbour and clear. Sand and salt? Always!!
You know better than to ask that! Besides gives you, some weight and gives you grip-tion.(new word)

i have a 4x4 now, and i'm getting new front tires today, and i'm going to load up on salt and sand. the worst part this time of year is the drive from around oshawa to picton as the roads can be bad, even if water is still open. i would like to give it one more try so i'll let you know how i do., i've heard the fishing has been slower lately, but you never know, i guess. thanks again. i've mentioned my friends in the jeep a gagillion times since last fall/winter, thanks again. i might still be there.

Hi Steve,

We were out on saturday. When we started in the morning my fishfinder said the surface temp was 40. By the afternoon we were reading 41 in the Adulphus Reach. Then later in the afternoon in front of the green marker by the ferry it was 38.

Hey Ranger Guy and TonyG,

I noticed in Ranger Guys report he was mostly around the ferry and east. (nice report Ranger Guy). But i am wondering if any of you guys worked long reach or deseronto area. I know a few guys who dont post reports have been having success from Shermans point and north to deseronto. Did any one work rhis area this past weekend. MAn i am dying to get a last kick at the can down that way but due to family commitments wont be able to get the boat out till 18th. Just hope the weather holds..

Me and my brothers fished Desoronto bridge and the north side of Forresters Island, water temp 37F. Started at 2pm to 5:30pm on Sunday afternoon, one good whack and only marked a few.Mr. Champs and minnows.

Hey Dan,

Thanks, I didn't try the Shermans Point area at all. I wanted to but couldn't pull myself away from the area I mentioned in my report because I have atleast had a fish on everytime I fish there LOL!
But I am most definitely going to make a point of trying some new areas next year as I am getting a little more confidence in the area now.

I tried a few wieght calculators last night with the measurements of our fish and they all said 10lbs. Do you think that is accurate for a walleye that is 30 X 16.5.

me and a friend fished from 5am till 3 and managed 8 in total. two 6"s one 10, three 11"s, one 12, and one 13. most were caught up top running short leads behind inline boards. all were released. can anyone tell me what they were feeding on they all seemed fat and full and just curious what was in their stomach. it was a great day overall both weather and fishing.

Hi John,

We marked a lot of shallow fish but couldn't get them to bite. But we saw a lot shallower than 20'. I was starting to think my sonar was giving me false readings. I guess I was wrong LOL!
Did your fish come crankbaits as well?

for those of not catching fish, USE THE DEEPDOWN HUSKY JERK IN RAINBOW TROUT COLOUR!!!!!3'1/2"size, dont know why we've been running all sizes and colours of lures but this one has been knocking em' dead when no one else is catching!!

all ours came on shallow running cranks (100') back and deeper cranks on very short leads(50') back. we also got some on husky jerks.

I watched the bay drop 3 deg F on Sunday from 40 to 37. The wind died and the air temperature dropped that day. Inner picton bay was frozen over Sunday night. Any night from now on with light winds and cold air temps is going to freeze up the inner bay. Salt is required anytime the air temp is below freezing. It doesn't matter if the water temps are hot or cold. I'm going to post a report when I get a few minutes together, but trying to catch up with all the posts from being gone.
