Anyone ever find a good way of getting a choke tube out that has been in a gun for 25 yrs??? I have soaked it in WD-40 for days now, tapped on it, white knucked it.... I'm ready to heat it, but leary on that.

I really want to try the Ulti-Full extended choke tube for turkey. Not that I need to, but just because I can. Or at least trying to.

what about shooting it 25 times in a row it should be warm by then  but if that doesnt work i know you can get large easy outs or extractors

I had a gun smith take mine out for
10 bucks. He had an ez out extractor that
Fit exactly. He was leary about bell mouthing.
A buddy of mine is always giving me heck
For not oiling my guns better. He was right!
Thanks for the post be because that just
Reminded me that i need to take that
Choke out and lube the threads!
Im sure you could do it yourself but
Buying the large ez out might be a chunk of
Change. You might be able to get one at
An industrial supply.

Thanks guys.

A combination of all the above and pure brute force and ignorance prevailed in the end. I ended up using WD-40 for 3 days, brake cleaner, a torch a little more than I think I should have and finally hammered in a close fiting square piece of steel into the tube. That along with a 12" pipe wrench and white knuckles got it out after 20 years. Needless to say, I won't be using that choke tube anymore...

After much cleaning I turned in the Ulti full choke and wow is it deadly. I sighted in the pattern with skeet shot using the scope at 20 yards and had an 8" pattern. I stepped back to 40 yards with a 1 7/8 oz, #4 turkey load and had a 36" pattern with 15 pellets in the turkey head target. The ole Mossy is a full blown turkey gun now.

After that I took out my tube from my Browning Silver and cleaned and oiled it real good. Don't mind wrenching on the ole Mossberg, but don't ever want to do it to the Browning. Live and learn.

Just for future reference or someone else with same issue, i used liquid wrench, i sprayed it good and let it sit for a day and sprayed it again and let it sit for a couple more days. I put a rag on top of choke and gave it a solid tap with hammer then put choke wrench on it and gave it a tap with hammer and it came loose and was able to clean up the choke and re-use it. That stuff is awesome it really creeps and penetrates better then WD.
