Hi all, I'm sure this discussion has probably took place before, but I'm wondering if anybody has had any luck with walleye here in the spring? I think we are going to try for some eyes in the evenings after the opener. I've heard lemoines pt. can be productive but I've never fished anywhere around Kingston besides snake island and Melville shoal for eyes myself.

cheers all,

Mike

Millhaven ferry dock should be holding some in the evenings as well. If you go down on calm night you should see them swimming around if they are in.

I've heard that Lemoine Pt is good for eyes, fishing 15 - 20 Feet, what I was told.

Lotsa Luck

I think we may give it a go this weekend at some point. Last year we fished opening weekend and got way more unwanted fish than Walters, I did get a nice pike off the pier on the way in.

Lakers are still in water too cold.
I wound assume the walleye will be in next week after this warm week end.
Get a map out look for shoals and/or structure. shorelines etc. You wont see any one else fishing these area's. but you will catch fish.
Kingston is a very secret walleye hot spot, guys dont like sharing spots, as you give a spot away next time you go to it, there is a dozen boats on it, from none. I have never been given any, the ones i have shared with others are now hard to fish due to tons of boats, and lots of dangerous obsticals around them, shoals , islands, shallow water. etc.
Be carefull, but try new spots, you will find fish

So i am not giving you any more spots, but the secrets to find them.
There is lots of islands in the st.lawarance many not far, that hold lots of walleye..

I have fished Lemoins for many years and some nights can be fantastic. It is to early in my opinion. I have had great nights there and other areas close by. I start about an hour before dark and fish until they stop biting. End of May first week or two of june is prime. Once the shad move in to spawn it shuts right off as they are very thick. I use inline boards with glow sticks on the flag. Gold and orange rogues work well!

A good shore spot for walleye in the early season around Kingston is the Causeway Bridge. Some of the shore is posted as no-fishing so you may have to fish the Fort side or on the wooden piers and rocks on the Kingston side.

I used to do well there throwing crankbaits in the evening.

Cheers
