I just installed a Planer board mast at the front of my boat, and was looking for tips so I don't tangle with other boaters on the water. With the cover up on my boat, I could not reach the line from the back of the boat to hook the rod line onto the releaser. Just wondering how everyone does it. Thanks for any pointers!!

get a broom handle or pole and put a hook on the end of the pole and just reach out and pull the line close enough so you can grab it

What I've seen people do is tie a string with a split ring on the end to somewhere on the boat near where you set the rods. You then put the planer line through this then clip the board on. This gives fairly easy access to the line. Hope this works !

yes matt nailed it, let one end slide freely on the planer line with a ring or clevis or something and tie the other end to your gunnel, then when u need the planer line just pull it to u
