Fished hard for 2 days around Belleville, Petes, Snake is, Rush's, Blakely, Pt Anne, trident.... nothing on 2 outings, well, 1 perch.

I never made it out on Sat, but went out Sunday for a few hours. I heard there were some fish caught on Sat in the wind, but never seen anyone catching anything 2 days i was out, Sun and tonight.... either the moon had an effect on the fish, or the sheep are driving them out.

First time i have ever fished near the opener and got skunked. Anyone else having any luck on the lower bay or Trent ?

Curious if the MNR had anything to report on the walleye populations in the Bay this year?

I was down in Picton early Saturday morning but the water was to rough for my boat. I talked to a few guys at the launch saying they only got a 3lb eye after fishing 10 hours. I then went out on Big Bay / Point Anne all day Saturday until about midnight and only caught 3 perch and a bass. I went out of Trenton on Sunday and caught 2 bass. I did not see anyone else catching fish either the whole weekend.

3 of us fished lots of hours and fished from deseronto bridge to the belleville bridge. lots and lots of boats on the water and from the gangs I have talked to the numbers were either very poor or they didn't see a walleye all weekend.
The MNR should be taking a hard look at the walleye numbers in the bay. Like or not-- I did hear , someone who has the ability to spear legally said it was the poorest year in 20 years. Like I said like or not if the fish are not here the MNR should be looking at the data.
have a great day all.

Usually you don't have to go very far to get fish this time of year. I didn't get out on the Saturday, but heard there were some caught. There wasn't any cold front come through to shut it down hard on Sunday, so i am thinking either they are not hanging around like they used to, got lock-jaw due to moon influences or something weather related. Quinte is the worst for lock-jaw walleye due to weather factors.

I fished the spots that i would normally catch then this time year through June, not a sniff ! There isn't a lot of weed growing yet, so i would give it a bit of time to settle out. I could see bottom on Point anne shoals with no weed growth whatsoever.

Also, when you start catching lots of sheep around belleville at early Aug/late June, its time to head farther East. Catching lots of sheep already.....

I'll let things settle out with the weather and give it another go. Maybe someone else has some good reports soon.
