Hi

New to the forum but I have been a follower for years. This was our annual trip for walleye's but we decided to try our luck at brown's on the Saturday to avoid the traffic at the bay. We headed out of Wellington and found our way to Athol bay where we caught this 11 lbs brown and thought I would share these photos. I also had another one break my line earlier in the day. Too our surprise there was only one other boat fishing. This was my first brown and it fought similar to a salmon. It had a pronounced hooked jaw is this typical of browns? We continued to Perfect Vue Sunday where we stayed for a few days and caught many walleye between Bayview and Perfect Vue Park. I also through in a pic of a 10.5 lbs walleye I caught last fall near Sherman's point. Both fish in the pictures were released

Those are some fine looking fish. Glad you went fishing for Browns and had luck. Were you in 25 to 35 feet of water in Athol Bay? Dave

Dave, thanks and we were in approximately 20-25 feet of water running planer boards 50" of line behind the board and another 125" out from the boat. Caught it on a Rapala husky Blue-silver-orange

Thanks for sharing your fishing for browns with us, that is a really nice fish and the walleye isn't too shabby either.

After viewing your great catch at Athol Bay plan on going after browns this weekend, possibly see if the salmon are around as well.
Everybody have a safe great holiday weekend, weather looks like it will be very enjoyable on the water.

That was an awesome trip (yep, I was the camera man). Perfect Vue was great and I finally got the 'monkey off my back' or the skunk out of my boat - been there four times or so and I never caught any walleye but my rod was hot on the wednesday morning.

That brown was a lot of fun. I think we will be back later in July and try scotch bonnet... :)

BTW, that was the maiden voyage for my 'new to me' boat; everything worked awesome and it caught more fish than my old boat! Only bad day was when a third party brought a banana with him...
