Hey everyone this is my first post on the site although Ive been following it since winter. Anyways me and my buddy are taking the girlfriends camping for the long weekend, I was hoping you guys could give me some ideas of lakes back north That have campsites on them and good fishing? Were looking for a lake that wont be to busy with boat traffic or fisherman. Since were taking the girlfriends were also looking for numbers more than size. I know its very last minute and I might be asking to much but was hoping you guys could throw some ideas my way as Ive found a few spots but am unshure about the fishing. Would make for alot better time if we could put some fish in the boat. Thanks for reading and to anyone who replys! Good luck and Happy fishing This long weekend!!

I would suggest 2nd Depot Lake north of Verona. It belongs to the Quinte Conservation Authority. If you have your own boat would suggest camping on a Island though as black flies on mainland could be a problem at this time. I believe you can rent boats from them as well, but not sure.

Again; as you mentioned last minute suggest you call ahead as they might be fully booked.

try sharbot lake provincial park. short notice for the long weekend but great fishing on shoreline campsites , if you have a boat they have a launch and/or rentals.the campground is on a lake called black lake and is walleye stocked through the mnr.the irony is most people fish sharbot lake (also has a boat launch and access from the park) ,I do not think most people are aware of the good fishing on black lake, i have been there over 15 times through the years and I usually will have the whole lake to myself in the boat. best fish for myself was just over 8 lbs which is a nice fish on any lake!!!!
good luck not so much on fishing but trying to get a camp site.hope this helps
cheers

Depot is nice. Pickerel, bass and pike. Also a lot of lakes in Frontenac with a variety of species depending on the lake. My wife and I will be heading to Frontenac for two days this weekend.
