I'm going to take the Captain fishing out at the Bonnet today I think. She's never even been on the big lake so it should be interesting. It looks like nice calm seas today so hopefully she doesn't get sick. Any suggestions for lure / depths in that area? I'm thinking browns are probably my best choice to fish for but I'll have to run some Salmon stuff you know just to see.... :) I'll be Monitoring 71 if anyone is out there. My boat name is Half Mine. "Because the other half is the captains"

Good luck and let us know how you do. We are going to head west tomorrow to pickering or Bluffs to try for some early kings.

Here's the 8 1/4 lb. He fought like heck. I thought we had a early king. He broke the water twice.
He was caught on a black and silver jointed td11 i think. In 18FOW at West point. I just put the rod in the holder after setting up.

This little guy hit a Greasy Chicken on a small dipsey set on 2 and back 55 ft. (15 FOW) I didnt weigh him. He was about 4 pounds I think.

All and all a pretty good time to be out with my Wife and Daughter. The wife has never fished the big lake so it was all new to her. She picked it up fast and both are a lot of help on the boat such is nice. We also toured West Lake as she's never seen it.

I think the tail was damaged. He was a pretty tough looking fish. He's obviously had a broken spine at some time. . He was quite crooked.

Well done and thank you for the reports on the water I appreciated your info.

I started out by wicked bank around 12:30 no takers, moved in to Athol and still no takers by 4pm moved in to west lake and got a few walleye. The morning on west lake was amazing the afternoon bite was tough. I think the boat traffic and hot calm day combined to make the afternoon slow.

Can't wait for the kings!

Scott

Congrats. Beauty Browns. We ended up hitting the Bluffs this morning. The Salmon were in thick. Ended up boating nearly 30 and lost likely 10 more. 4 Kings over 20. I cant wait till theyre further East and save the 2 hr drive.
