Anyone have some tips on catching walleye on the fly? Where to go? Wet flies or strip a streamer? Would be greatly appreciated....

Phil Rowley has done it in Alberta a considerable amount as I understand it. Doable.

When I was young, we were smallie fishing a lake when there was a major hatch going on...

We took advantage and caught 1lbs to 2lbs smallies hand over fist.

As the evening came, the smallies stopped, but we started catching walleye on jitterbugs!

So I'd say, under the right conditions, they sure can be caught on dry flies!

Good timing for the question :) .
Walleye pig out on mayflys ( shadflys ) and their larvae.
That's why the fishing often gets a bit tougher at lots of places this time of year.
I've caught a few walleye on crystal green or white woolly buggers, using sinking line, fishing the same
places as you would with conventional gear. Just doing a gentle lift and drop with line. Figure the woolly buggers look like the larvae emgering from the
lake/river bottom and this can be as deep as 40 feet .
There's many fancy flies that can be used that represent " dun" or "hexagenia", stages of a mayfly that would
probably work too.
Got to like pulling fish in on a fly rod. :D

If you aren't adverse to using wet flies (imitating fish, not bugs), I would think it would be just as easy as throwing jigs and spoons. I've seen a friend catch everything from trout to grouper on flies. It's just a matter of using the right setup.
