What type of Bait fish is this?

Fishing Hay Bay this evening with my son and the water started boiling all over, son casted and put one in the boat then let it go, wondering what type of bait fish it is, it was unbelivable the amount of fish there. The sheeps were on fire tonight as well,,,,lol Baaaaaaaa

In past years you have probly seen a ton of these in the ice fishing out of the church.
i dont think the winter kill happened this year, and a perfect spawning season.
There is schools of bait fish every where this spring.
I love seeing those gizzard shad schools, brings me back to 90's. used to see them all the time as a kid.

You bang a few Sheepies too Tim? We had 4 of the slimy bastards. That 5 of diamonds makes me think you were hunting pike as well as eyes? Any luck?

Saturday Curt hit a few sheep’s and I got 1 eye using a harness, yesterday Tyler was with me and he wanted Pike after a 3 sheep’s, hence the spoon, had no worms so I was using jerks and cranks with no luck
