Among tournament anglers a banana in the boat on tournament day is bad luck.

you can google it, but apparantley the banana curse is known around the world. All I know is that sunday morning we couldnt get the motor going. My buddy found the banana that my brother put in the boat, threw it out and the motor started on the next pull. Go figure. Oh ya and my buddy that touched the banana didnt catch a fish all day. Im not superstitious at all but i doubt I will be bringing any banana's along in the next tournament.

I am however looking to pay back my brother, who im sure is reading this and laughing his ass off.

lol, I had nothing against banana's before. I would just as soon not ever see one on a tournament day now though. Probably didnt help that we were boat #13 either.

I agree with unlucky 13. Years ago Wayne Barnes and I fished the series for a few seasons and had good results until one day when our number was 13 and at blast off just as we got into big bay the motor blew. We told Pete to never give us #13 again and he never did. true story
