how is the cat fishing in the napanee river, and where is a good place to start?

As a kid, always had good luck by Goose Turd Island before the Centre St. bridge as well as the boat launch down River Road; not sure what the latter is called but know Paul Murphy used to own the house across from it.

As well, the old willow tree in the park was always a good hang-out and place to fish.

Have taken my daughter there many times! fun place for my kids, and on the other side of the bridge i cant fish right now it supposed to be off limits, some fishery regulation.
but i've never been to the boat launch down river rd how far down is it?

Speaking of cats, I read that the limit is 12 channel cats, however I couldn't find a limit for mudcat. Would the limit be the same?

I'm not sure if there is a limit on bullheads herd of people taking large amounts 20+

Yes i am refering from the falls to the center st bridge, You are right it is only when the walleye are spawning, I should get all the facts befor i answer questions or make statments.

I remember seeing a ton of gar pike near the little island...I've heard that rope or yarn works for them.

There was an avid fly-fisher on here that targeted them...not sure who it was or name but he posted some fantastic pics of those he's caught in the past on the BOQ and tribs.

1 thing i've never caught is a gar pike.
Went out last night back to davie's hole got a few bull heads and some pearch, was useing a 3 way set up with worms and i was the only 1 catching fish lol.
