Sorry I'm a bit late on this, but thought I would share my opening day musky trip.

It started out out with a paddle down towards the bigger part of the river where I knew the musky lived.

Once there I tried a bucktail and had a few near misses but nothing solid. I changed to a jerkbait and had my first musky of the year. He was in and around the 8 lb mark and after a few good jumps and towing me around for a little bit, he was on his way again.

I said hello to a few of the other river critters along the way.

and found myself at the end of the calm water so took a hike down through the rapids. I had one more miss again on a bucktail in one of the pools below.

I hiked back up and went back to a jerkbait and had my second musky of the year. Again a brother to the first and away he went as well.

I had great day so I paddled back to truck.

It was another great adventure in our great outdoors.

That was a great trip, congrats on the first muskies of the season.

I enjoy those small river areas as well. Those are always scenic plus those fish never see lures. Plus it normally very quiet other then the birds. I will be parking the big Princecraft and tossing in the Kayak into more of those smaller systems.

Great job,

That Hellhound is one of the best plastic Gliders on the market. It will become one of your new favorites!

Thanks guys and glad you enjoyed. I would have liked to have used photobucket as pics look better from there but I'm having internet issues lately.
I love fishing those back waters for musky. You won't get a 40 lber, but usually get a few 6-12 lb and the occasional one up to 25lb. And being in the canoe just makes it a lot of fun.

And yeah, I think the Hellhound is going to become one of favorites. Fun to use and easy retrieving. Thanks for the tip Stacy. I'm sure I'll be back for more.
