Conditions were good so I headed out on lake Ontario to Scotch Bonnet island. Got my first big king out of the kayak on an agitator flasher and big ern spoon. The fish took off peeling out line to 250' then the drag just stopped, the line had tangled and dug into the spool. Thought the line was going to break but instead the fish just started pulling me sideways for another few hundred feet, was kinda amusing heading sideways at 2mph but the line held up and I landed this guy.

I also lost another chinook after a blistering drag run but managed to catch another two lakers and a rainbow before heading in for the day.

Also I thought I'd post a few browns from sandbanks earlier in the season

I'll be the first to say it. You are a brave, brave man, life jacket or no life jacket, lake O is still cold.

It would be cold to go in for sure. Do you have a portable VHF? There was alot of boats out but unless we were close we would have probably not seen you if you had an issue coming in or going out. Out past the Bonnet i'm sure one of us would see you. I'll bet catching a big king in that yak would be a blast.

I launched from Huycks Point. I have to thank trannyman for giving me some tips and letting me know about the public access off of Huycks point, paddling out from Wellington would be a bit of a journey, I'd probably still be out there now. It's about 5-6 km to get to the area off Scotch Bonnet island but following the islands out means that I'm never more then a km from shore at any time. Lots of boats out on Sunday I was trolling in the pack, winds picked up around noon so I headed in, defiantly have to watch conditions carefully and check multiple wind/weather forecasts before heading out.
