I took my son out this am to try and net a Salmon or 2. We started at McFaul Shoal and headed towards the Bonnet. Setup was 450 copper 300 copper and 2 wire divers. After about a 45 mins of marking lots of bait one of the dipsy rods started to scream. My son grabbed the rod and the fish pulled the line out about 250 feet before taking a break. He fought the fish for about 20 minutes before we landed his PB 31.3lb King. We got him on a White crinkle fly behind a green/black SD down about 60ft.

I landed this small bow a couple hours later off the 300 copper and a Greasy Chicken.

I think we missed the boat by staying too far east and starting a bit late but that big guy made it all worth it. I was just trying to stay out of the crowd with my copper. It was a great day out there. I heard lots of fish being caught on the radio.

Nice job!!! Awesome early season pig. I'm itching to get out for some salmon again soon, but probably not in the cards until early July.

Nice job, That is a beauty. We fished the ducks yesterday and used some of the MC rockets for the first time. Caught 3 lake trout on them (your new purple, goby, and blueberry muffin). There were a ton of fish stacked along the ledge but had trouble enticing the bite. this is what our screen looked like the whole day

There were also huge schools of baitfish. Was hoping there were salmon here, and we think we had one on but lost it. Thanks again for the great service with the MC rockets Mike, anyone who hasn't tried them should look into them, they even work for lakers

Nice job rtkman,

I am doing a presentation at the next CLOSA general meeting (June 20th at 7 pm) on fishing the Bonnet Shoals and how to predict where the kings will be. The most violent currents on Lake Ontario are in this area. Watching the winds and currents the days before will tell you where to head for. Also the seasonal movement of kings and bait fish in the area

Also will answer any and all questions about M. C. Rockets.

Al
