Just for laughs, what "Mouth" size will you guys be targeting on opener. What's your favorite lake, lure, technique etc... I'm sure alot of the tournament guys won't comment on this :P but hey, a bass is a bass, and I'm sure most people will be doing the same things.

Have fun this summer guys!!!!!!!

My brother and I are in the Quinte Big Bass tourny - team 5! It is largemouth only......so we are expecting a 6+lbs smallie.

I don't really have a fav lure; right now we have everything tied up. Spinnerbait, buzz, frog, worm, whacky, jig, creature, A-rig (i know, i know!), tube, and a shallow crank ..... No expectations right now as we haven't been on the lake in a couple weeks.

No matter the size, it would be cool to get one early on a buzzbait!

cya out there.

i was lucky enough to be in la belle province last week for there bass opener, targeted small jaws, most fish were taken on football jigs and tubes, hopefully the fish will be a little more active for ontario's opener and we can get some arm breaking spinnerbait hits.

I will be fishing Lake Erie on the canadian side for smallies. Born and raised in Belleville i still fish Quinte area for muskie and bass but i reside in Stoney Creek so Erie is closer for me. If you have never experienced bass fishing on Lake Erie you should someday give it a try 'cause it is incredible. Average fish 2-3 lbs. you can catch 50 in a morning on x-raps , top water and tubes. :ugeek:

Maybe this will be the year of the 7lbs largie.

Last year was the six.

Who knows, maybe it'll be the seven this year!

I'll be starting with a spinnerbait and a frog.

Stop and say hi if you see a guy with 2 crazy little boys on board. Not sure if I'm taking my canoe or 12' tinny. Depends if I take the 4-wheeler or the Jimmy in. I went for a ride in on the trail last weekend to see how it was and the mud\water were typical of late July levels.

We always have a great time and are rarely dissapointed with the action. We usually fish closer to home opening day, but plan to hit the nest Sunday or Monday depending on the weather and pressure on the lake. When the pressure is heavy that can be a great spot as most folks won't navigate the mess of stumps to get back there. The heavy action rods are ready to go.

Good luck everyone.

Bruce
