I went out on Saturday with my son for our first bass fishing experience on Hay Bay since moving there in Sept. Though we didn't do all that well with the bass, we had a great time together and thats what it is all about
.
By the time the day ended we had 4 Large Mouth biggest one an estimated 2.5 Lbs, 3 jumbo perch, 1 channel cat, 2 hammer handle pike, 1 sunfish, and a bonus walleye. All of these fish were caught in places that I thought would hold a ton of bass. I think that I will have to rethink how I fish for bass on Hay Bay as it seems a lot different than East Lake that I am used to fishing.
I had some tips as to where to go, but the storm in the morning pushed us off those areas before we could really get into them (however the largest bass of the day was caught from there so thanks.)
Anyways, we live on Hay Bay as I said, so if your out there and want to show me how to do it, stop by and I'll provide the ride and the gas. Or if you see us out there, stop and say hi. We're the third dock east of blakewood's. Silver Ebbtide bass styled fish/ski boat.
Thanks again and hope you all had a great opener.
