I have the humminbird 587ci, For detailed lake ontario fishing maps would the fish'n'chip be the way to go or are there other chips? I have the back lakes chip already but it doesn't have much info in lake ontario?

You would have three options.

Gold 2XG - Full great lakes coverage with navaids and 6' contour line changes $250

Hotmaps Premium C6 - Great BOQ coverage with 1' contour line changes, navaids, and decent coverage in Lake Ontario around BOQ/Kingston area. I believe you lose coverage just past the Ducks and Scotch Bonnet $150

Fish'N'Chip - 1' contour line changes in BOQ, no navaids anywhere, and the most contour line changes in Lake Ontario (not sure of the intervals they are though) $150

The most common chart we are selling now for the BOQ/Lake Ontario area is the Hotmaps Premium C6. Depending on how far into the lake you want to go will determine if the Gold or Fish'N'Chip would be better. The Fish'N'Chip is discontinued so if you are leaning that way act quick because stock is getting very low on them.

Thanks for the info Lawren. So if you fish Quinte, and want coverage for Lake Ontario (Durham Region) sounds like the FishNChip is the way to go. Why is the FishNChip discontinued??

Yes, the FishNChip will cover all that area, just remember there are not marker bouys or other navaids on it. Navionics is including the FishNChip data with their Platinum+ charts so they have decided to discontinue the stand alone FishNchip product

The fish n chip data is now fully updated in our Platinum+ charts. You will see new cartography shortly for the Great Lakes areas. Stay tuned.
