Quinte Fishing

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum so would like to start by wishing evryone a Merry X-mas and hope the hard water comes in soon. I moved to the area about 4 years ago and have just been able to get out 2-3 time per year on the hardwater. I normally go north on weekends for trout. But I would like to get out on the bay more this year. I know you guys have your secret spots but I was just wondering if there is a secret jig that you are fond of. You don't have to give away your secret's( if you don't want to)HAHAHA but any special colors or specific weapons(except TNT)HAHAHA would be appreciated. Thanks all.

On the bay it pretty much where you catch fish in the rest of the year is where you get them in the winter.The only problem is access and or how far you want to walk out.If you have an ATV or snowmachine you can fish anywhere but be careful of the points because the ice is sometimes not as thick as farther out. Lure choice has always been a Swedish Pimple with yellor,orange or chartruese and had good success with just a plain silver one. If you can, use the largest one you can find ahd tip it with a mud minnow or shiner.(muds last longer)Hope this helps

Last year did alright with a 1/4 ounce panther martin spinner through the ice as well as the northland spoons. Mr champs are always good on the bay. As with the spoons it is a good bet to tie a lead of mono after the swivel to help prevent line twist.

I've use MR.Champs tipped with minnow,for over 10 years.Red,yellow or chartruese,it all depends on the day eg. sunny I go with yellow.It's hit and miss.I walk out mostly, Point Anne west end alot of current out there and Deseronto Bridge.

1/2 ounce Kastmaster green/white or blue/white glow in the dark have been killers - typically outfishes everything that my friends throw at them.
