Hi everyone, I'm new to this board and just wanted to let everyone know that I called the MNR to find the status of my card and they told me that they had a back logged due to the fact that they had approx 64,000 card requests in one day. With that being said I recieved mine yesterday but if anyone does not get thiers before Jan 1 just call the MNR and they will send you a temperary paper to get you thru. Good luck.
FISH HARD OR GO HOME!!!!

Well what do you know about that - I learned something today. But, that will not stop me from going out on Jan 1 and fishing (that is if I don't have my new license yet). It's not my problem that they cannot process licenses quick enough.........if they want to give me a ticket for that while there are other people who harvest more than posted limits or do not have proof of ever purchasing a license then that is their perogative.

We got checked on the water opening day of Lake Trout this year. The C.O. told me he prefered my reciept because it was easier to read than the Outdoor Card. As a side note, one of our party left his licence at home and the C.O. gave him until the following friday to drop into the office and show him his card. I guess the application of the law varies from officer to officer.

They no doubt have the option of being as "understanding" or "prickish" as they like.

Most I've met have been great. Always ready to give out info....

Sure wouldn't mind that job, at least to try :!:

The day I forgot my card I was on L Ont, knowing that others had been given the option of producing it at a later date and a cost off around $40 in gas and couple hours I continued on. We got stopped and my insistance that I had a card but forgot it and I would bring it to his office got me a bigger fine for failing to produce it instead of the cheaper fine for not having one DOAH!

To some of these guys fishing is in the law books between murder and manslaughter.

Was speaking to my son last night about our incident on opening day and he reminded me that the C.O. told us that he could access the computer in the field(I don't know how) and verify 3 year licences but not year to year renewals.

Another quick question, can anyone explain the purpose of paying $6 every three years for a new card other than a new picture? Sure sounds like a money grab to me.

THe CO can verify your licence but he can still charge you for not having it on you.

The card itself is just a piece of plastic to hold your licence, check the expiory date, nothing with writing that small should be legal. The card just registers you to whatever company got the contract to do the licencing.
