I am making my second trip to Wellington tomorrow morning; first trip a few weeks ago the bite was off and we were skunked after six hours at Scotch Bonnet. My question is, have the salmon move on from this area? It's a long drive to take the family, if the fishing has shut down then I can always change gears and go to Big Rideau or BOQ... I would rather hit the big water though.
I am a member of LOU, Spoonpullers and there aren't any recent reports for this area.

Cheers,
Mike

Take a look at page #2 in Trannyman's post "port hope for a change". Al, aka trannyman gives a very detailed update to his post regarding Wellington. West lake Willow has been going out with success too. Look at his post "fishing with the kids". Dave

Wicklow Beach (a bit west of Colbone) has been productive with a top notch launch and lots of parking. After launching you can be fishing in 10 min. 90 down over 120 f.o.w. was what worked last week. Best of Luck! Bruce.

That looks really good; I have been avoiding going too far west but that is about the same distance as it is going to Wellington. And a lot shorter boat ride out which seals the deal.

I will be there tomorrow AM in an Alumacraft I/O.

Thanks for the advice!

Let us know how you make out. I'm thinking of going to either Port Hope or Wickow sunday.

Well we went, fished give hours with no bites. We followed a boat in that was so far out we couldn't see him while we were fishing. He had a couple, said you could only catch them ten or more miles out.
Awesome trip though.
I am now on the Big Rideau with two trout in the boat.

Wow 10 miles.. Sounds like a stretch. We didnt go over 8 k from the ramp and had good luck. We talked to some guys that were out 8 miles and got some Bows and I think 1 or 2 small salmon. We did see some boats maybe 15k from shore. I'm not sure how they did.
