This is pretty much the only stretch that i don't know about. With winds at NW tomorrow, i was thinking of hitting the this area as well as Hay Bay. Can anyone recommend a launch that best suits this location ?

Thnx

I gues that would really depend on where your comming from Biff........... there is a launch in hay bay and then there is deseronto at the south end of long reach there is a ferry launch on 33 and there is mcfarlins launch out in the county would really need to know your boat size, and where you will be comming from to give you good advice.... good luck out there ... grizz

With NW winds my first suggestion would be Deseronto and then Shermans Point, either would be fine with NW.
The only difference is one is at one end or the reach and the other is at the opposite end.
Personally I think the Deseronto launch is much better but would really depend on where your coming from.

Launch at Church is getting really shallow, big hole at end of the ramp. Smaller boat is ok but anything big might have some trouble.

Got an 18' Ranger, taking the father n law out for his first trip. NW winds are tough on the bay. I am prolly gonna launch out of picton by the sounds of it. By the way, the perch fishing is incredible on the south short around the ferry. Never seen so many 1lber's coming out. I don't recall seeing perch like this in the bay, anyone else ? NW winds have me running for the W shore.

thanks for the help !

I'd try Deseronto launch. Awesome ramp, deep enough water....You would probably make it to Hay Bay in about 10 minutes. If you are coming off the 401 (either direction) you would save alot of time on the road. SW winds are brutal through Mohawk Bay, but NW shouldn't be too bad for your boat.

Good Luck!!!
