The last couple of weeks Gene, Grizz and I worked on the Rocket and cutbait program. I decided it was more important to stay at Wellington and work on our rigger program than to go to Whitby and fish the 3 PWSFA tournaments with brother Don and the Reel Fission Team.

It paid off with an 8th place finish in the GOSD last week with this 32.98 king on Thursday.

I had a good feeling Thursday morning running to the fishing grounds with a sunrise like this.

Friday we had a good pre-fish for the Tightline's Shootout tournament. $25,000.00 first place money. We had 2 fish over 30 and another half dozen in the 20 to 28 pound range. We locked every fish on Friday and they all hit the net. Man it was hot all 3 days and Friday the worst with no breeze at all.

Big Gene cooking on Friday.

Brother Don into a good fish on Friday.

The Tournament report. - I have made 2 bad decisions on location in 2 of the first 3 tourneys this year. We had location "A" from Thursday or location "B" from Friday. I left it up to the team. They out voted me 3 to 1 on location "B". Good thing, we had engine problems and couldn't get to "A" anyways. First 3 shots Saturday morning were screamers and dropped the baits after 20 or 30 seconds into the run. Not a good start. Then we started to lock them down and get them to the boat. We had our 6 fish box shortly after 9:30 and then up-graded 3 times. We dropped a couple kings over 20 close to the boat at the end of the tournament time that would of up-graded even more. We had a respectable day finishing 8th out of 60 of the top teams from New York and Ontario. Our team has really come together this season. This is Ian's and Big Gene's first full season with us and I would like to thank them for their contributions. On Friday we fine tuned our meat program on the 300 and 400 coppers off the big boards thanks to Ian's experiment. We had the second largest fish of the tournament at 30.56 and the largest 3 fish box but we decided not to enter the Callcutta.

Still our hottest Rocket Rig.

It is off to Oswego, New York this weekend. Leaving Thursday morning and crossing the Lake. Hope all our hard work pays off. :D :D :D

Congrats Al that is a real good showing. I look forward to catching up with you boys this weekend. I hope we finish 1-2 but I gotta tell I am not losing to someone who wears a damn tool belt around on a boat hahahaha. What is this amateur hour?
