Hi everyone,

The following is our latest downrigger footage of salmon and trout strikes. Most footage was taken between 60 and 100 feet down over 200 to 320 feet of water. A bit of a challenge for the small sensor camera but the final footage cleaned up reasonable well.

Hope you enjoy!

That was AWESOME footage guy. I found it to be very educational and i will put it to good use. I noticed right off the bat that the fish hit when the lure when the action slows a bit so i think i would like to try increasing the line distance between the spin doctor and the spoon to give it a more gental presantation while the spin doctor does it's thing.... Thanks for posting this.... Fred....

When you watch the video check the difference in water clarity difference between 60' and 100 ' down.
At 60' the water is dirty and much more clear at 100'. At 60' the camera is in the thermocline ( 48 to 58F). At 100' the camera is in colder water like (40 to 46F) and more clear. Therefore your lure colour choice would be different at those 2 different depths.

I have had a StrikeVision set up for about 8 years and Mike (Rocketman) and I did the videos for the M. C. Rocket website 3 years ago.

You're right Trannyman1. Thermocline will make a negative difference on the video as will something as simple as a bit of cloud cover. We were fortunate to have full sun when we shot most of the deeper footage. Nice videos on the MCR site, by the way - I would have gone crazy if we had the live view on the boat ...

I haven't had the Strikevision hooked up for a couple of years. 1) you get a stiff neck from watching the flat screen and 2) eyes get blurry after 4 or 5 hours. :D :D :D
