I lost my prop to the bottom of Hay Bay, I was hoping to get out this weekend but none of the shops seem to have one in stock. I have a small 9.9 and thought of using it's prop just to troll, would that damage the motor? If anyone has a prop that would fit my motor I would love to hear from you. Thanks

I saw what I thought was a merc prop at a yard sale last week, if he has it out tomorrow I'll grab it up. If you don't want it somebody will eventually. I think this was too small for an outdrive. What is the shaft size and spline for your outboard?

It is an 8 spline merc. I believe its a 10 3/8", however I am not sure. Thanks so much, please call my brother in law @ 613 373 0200 if you pick it up. His name is Steve.

That would be a 10 inch prop with a 9 inch pitch standard 3 blade through hub exhaust. Should be a 1/2 inch 10 spline shaft if it is 1986 to 2002 or an 8 spline 1/2 inch for 1963 to 1985

Sorry , no luck on the prop. I think it was too big for you anyway, maybe around 13" dia.

I have any extra prop that came with my extra 20hp that is not currently working its from the late 60's early 70's timeframe

It was recently rehubbed and hasn't been used since

I'm not sure what the pitch is

I have a 1988 20hp Merc

The pitch on mine is 13.

I just replaced it this year. I got the new one in Pickering. Merc dealer on Baily just West of Brock Rd on the North side.
He them in stock.

The motor I have is a long shaft, not sure if thatmakes a difference

Call Dave Scott @ Aim outboard recyclers, in west ottawa, he has trailer loads of used merc parts. And can order anything you need for a merc. Is also ottawa's tohatsu dealer. 613-831-1246
