Fished Adolphus Reach from the gap down to the bat cave this morning, launched at Finkles. Marked allot of suspended fish, used Td11's and Reef Runners off boards and even a downrigger with a spoon and nothing took. Went through a few algae clouds but the water was flat and the wind was down. Upper water temp was still 70 degrees. Talked to another boat as we came in they hit a bunch of lakers at 100ft, but no Eyes either. Another month and hopefully they will be in.

The bows can be fun. Run bright colorful spoons and run about 2.5-3

Went to Finkel's Park ramp this morning however did not launch. Big drop off at the end of the steel ramp combined with low water level. A trailer wrecker if I ever saw one...If my trailer wheels had gone over the end of the steel pad, I reckon the trailer may well have bottomed out so decided it was too risky! Launchers beware!

Read the comments and thought I would throw something in as well. I launched at Wellington yesterday ( Wednesday Sept. 19th) and touched bottom in a few places on the way out of the channel....the water level is certainly down compared to July! I ended up going all the way down to Picton and taking a taxi back to Wellington to retieve my truck and trailer.

I marked lots of fish towards Adolpohis Reack on the Lake Ontario side, but no takers. I was running off the downriggers anywhere from 40 to 70 feet, running a number of different set ups from flashers and spoons to jointed rapalas. I found a few schools of fish that were really stacked up while rounding the red buoy approching the reach out from the Lennox Gen. station and ran my rigs right through both schools....they just weren't interested.

I spent an hour in the evening also up at Shermans point, and caught 7 small drum, using a worm harness, and marked many fish on the finder as well, but no walleye to be had.

I am going to fish down from Belleville on Saturday....will motor down to Telegraph narrows and start trolling from there. I will post my info. and hopefully a few good pictures as well.

Cheers!

Another launch to beware off is the shermans point launch. Saw a guy rip off the wheel and bend his axle on his trailer :o The drop off at the end of the pad is almost 3 feet deep.

My old trailer I was going to weld a skid plate angled over the front shackle so if it dropped over the edge I could skid it up to the wheel, the plate would be below the center of the wheel for the trailer to lift out. My new trailer doubles as a utility trailer and car hauler, part of the boat carriage is below the frame so a skid plate won't work. Last year at the West Lake ramp I had the trailer pushed so far back into the mud to get the boat off I couldn't pull it out without the boat on it.

Sounds like should bring my F550 towtruck to launch, instead of my 1/2 ton lol.
