What size is it? If it's a 30 I would turn it into wire diver rod...unless you are already running tekota's. Wire outfits take the hardest shots so you want a quality reel. I have 4 of the old style cats and they have seen allot of abuse on the divers and won't quit. Then take your old wire reel and add leadcore or copper to it. Congrats again Jim.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I believe the reel is a 30 size. My wire diver reels are Diawa Sealines, so I could replace one of those with the Cat.

I got the Catalina 305Da reel in the mail today.

Sweet looking reel!!!

What should I use it for? Line capacity is 420 yds/ 20 pound mono...... wire? lead?...........?
