It's fall.... it's the weekend..... that can only mean 1 thing....RAIN!!!! Temperatures have been fairly consistent last couple of days and going into the weekend. No real cold front, no thunder and lightning, just rainy and windy. (depending on where you are I guess) So, do you go out fishing and get wet and hope for the best, or sit on the couch all day Saturday and watch WFN??

I hope your answers are positive, cause I'm aching to get out tomorrow.

Good Luck to those that do go out!!!

A chicken has a brain the size of pea, and they're smart enough to get out of the rain

Was it worth it, is the question....

You're born wet & die wet. Not going to let a little wet in the middle stop me from getting out there.

I prefer it overcast and raining, don't mind the wind as there is always a lee somewhere. As far as lightning is concerned, I will stay until my line rises skyward on static electricity, then I run for shore!

Red Shad so I take it you got skunked? I had my boat on the truck in the driveway and backed it back into the garage. Not cause I'm scared of the rain but was by myslef and the boat an 18'8" Legend with a 115 is new to me, only had it out once so did not want to get into a big wind storm on the launce by myslef....just in case. Hoping to get out tomorrow. Live in Bath noting the concerns on one of the boards about Frinkles launce. Glenora Ferry is where I launched last time. any other good spots?

It's all about the adventure
Well since the topic came up I guess I'll share it with the site, it's good for a laugh if nothing else...me and my buddy set out to see how the eye's are doing in the reach yesterday, Fri 21 Sep. Well it started out normal enough and was going great until Jim rolled the passenger side window down for a smoke and the power window would not go up (Fords!), so after many attempts we just shook our heads and carried on and worry about it later. Jim introduced me to the restaurant at the Picton Marina (my first time there and as it turns out was the only good thing that happened to us that day)....Anyway on our way out, I grabbed a garbage bag as I was sure it was going to rain....and might need it!
So launched the boat (Blue and White 22' Starcraft V1 Islander) at McFarlands without any mishaps and set out for the day. After we got out a bit we decided to get the kicker warmed up (Honda 4 stroke 10.0HP), for whatever reason it would not stay going. After 20 min or so we finally got it to sit at idle we put in gear and it would stall. So after many attempts (and numerous checks of the fuel line, primer bulb, etc. and lots of blessing!! ) we finally got it to stay going while in was in gear and set of towards the Ferry to see what’s out there. Around this time, I noticed that my lunch (4 x egg salad sandwiches) was forgotten in the truck. So after a few hours the ranting of the egg salad sandwiches were in full bloom......pass me a worm and an egg salad sandwich....nice to have a sandwich right about now and this went on for a few hours or so....you get the picture :P
Around 3:00 or so the clouds getting really dark and worse of all no more worms! (by the way no eyes, just silver bass and jumbo perch) we decided to make our way in to the launch, just as I put the boat alongside it started to rain. So we kind of chuckled and said good timing and proceeded to try and get the boat on the trailer. Now I'm sure you guys all know of the drop off at the launch....I didn't!!....so as we are trying to get this boat in the trailer it would not seem to sit the way it was suppose too and was hard listing every time we take it out thinking we had it right, the more we tried the harder it was raining, right up to the point where the sky’s opened up .....I have seen it rain like this before (Halifax Hurricane 2002) but I have never been out in something like this! ....with the boat out of the water and still listing to the right , we ran into the truck but then was reminded......about the window......as I jump out of the truck again in this down pour and getting absolutely soaked. I tell Jim to hang on to the garbage bag so I can get it so he doesn’t get any wetter or at least the inside of the truck doesn’t get any wetter :D . So as he is holding the bag in position which was not covering all of the window the rain is pouring in he is getting soaked, the truck is getting soaked all the windows are fogging up and looking like drowned rats....as we are chuckling over how this day has turned out as I look at Jim with water dripping off his hat and absolutely soaked, I reached in behind the cab and told him there is only one thing left to do......and I hold up the egg salad sandwiches! ......well if anyone would have been around and heard us laughing to kill ourselves like two damm fools, they would have thought we would have escaped from the Looney bin. Needless to say the torrential downpour only lasted a few minutes which gave us time to rethink the trailer thing, which we just moved over to the right hand side of the ramp away from that cement drop off and the boat went on fine.
So after we get in the truck and make our way back home, I decided I needed a coffee and stopped at TH, when I got back to the truck, Jim was having a smoke and then proceeded to show me the window working...don't know what happen but now the window works (of course after it stops raining) and is working fine now. I guess you would have to be there to really appreciate the humour, but trust me it's one I won't soon forget  ...but it was a great fishing adventure!!

I just picked up (last week) a brand new 20 ft legend with a 115 4-stroke as well. Ive only had it out once to start the break-in of the motor.Hoping to get out for some fall walleye when they start coming back in the bay. I'm getting itchy to do some fishing. Maybe we'll see you out there, I'll put in at the ferry as well.
