Hay all,

My buddies and i are headed up to the limerick lake area and was trying to find a splake lake to fish. I have never fished for these and was hoping that someone could chime in with some spots/lakes that are in the vicinity.

thanks !

Don't pay to launch! Take the north road and there is a public launch at the beach.

So we went out this morning to Steenburg, in the water at "Mike's boat launch" 20$ in and out, super nice guy and fairly nice launch. What a nice lake ! We fished most of the day from the north end of the lake to the south, pretty much covering all the shore lines. We fished all depths from shallow to deep. No Splake at all... bit of a bummer. We did tie into some nice bass, but were more looking for splake... Threw Cleos, spinners, cranks, fergies, tubes... and everything else in our tackle boxes... no go. what a bummer.

I did manage to put my ranger up on the rocks in one of the poorly marked channels. I took it out of the water and directly to the shop to get fixed. I took a nice gouge out of the keel, but didn't put a hole in it thank god. So a pretty expensive day..

I should have just stuck with the salmon sandwiches :)
