Great pictures Phil, especially the 30lb salmon. What port do you fish salmon out of? I did real good at BOQ in middle of Nov and also caught my personal best of about 12lbs which is still swimming and growing as we speak. Have a great 05 season. One of these days I'll learn how to post pictures and will post my own.

All the Salmon came from Port Hope....this place is awsome, I plan on being there a lot more this summer...in nine trips We boated 34 Salmon, never going more than a mile off shore, I was sharing the water with 40 footers right down to 14 footers with 25 hp ...and all were landing salmon :D :D ...and off course all the eyes came from Quinte :D Thanks to this board and Super Dad and ken my Quest for a double digit walleye ended this year....My Personal best is 14.5 Lbs ...32.5 inches long and had a girth just shy of 22 inches 8O :D :D :D :D Thanks again QUINTE BOARD and to Superdad and Ken :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Big O, what lures and colours did you find worked best for you out of Port Hope? Where you using meat? I fished out of Brighton this year south of Proctor but not much luck. Also tried out of Wicklow where you get to fishable water a bit faster, but not a lot of luck there this year either. Been going to trailer to Port Hope; maybe next year. Thx. Barry

Barry this was my first year fishing for Salmon in my own boat...i had a lot of help from locals....By far the best spoon was RAC spoons (mags) #32 , #33 , #87 , #34 , #81 , we fished in about 120 feet of water with the balls set at about 80 feet, I was also using free sliders, which accouned for about 40% of all our fish, trolling speed is real important ....2.5mph (gps) was our key speed for the Rac Spoons, as far as meat....never use it, we did get some artifcial strips from the tackel shop at the boat lanch, Meat was the ticket in the early fall, but when i seen the fish were getting to the black stag i packed it in...i like them silver I'm at the launch about 4:30 am every Saturday(leave Ottwa at midnight)and i monitar channel 16 VHF hope to see you there :D

Many thx big-o for all the info. I have some of those options covered. When in the year do you start fishing Port Hope? I know Brighton does not get much action until July. My VHF handle is Dad's Affair. Maybe we will connect. Thx.....Barry
