For everyone who is participating in the diaries, please remember that decisions about our fishery may potentially be influenced by the data collected. So please record accurate details and if you didn't catch fish, it isn't a big deal to say so. It is anonymous to everyone else and surely is not a competition in any way. Also, we are to record non-targeted species as well, not just walleye. For example, drum, lake trout, etc. Jim is a great guy and has the best interest of the fishery in mind. Lets give him an accurate picture of what happens this fall.

great advice Jeff. remember people this only works if data is factual and accurate many good advantages can come from your log books and with the good comes the bad so enjoy your season and follow the log rules to the letter they have been using these logs for a few years now on salmon and its the first time used on the quinte fishery this will help the MNR get a better picture of whats going on out there without them having to hassle trollers by asking them to stop fishing, and answer questions on how there day is going .

I have my log book and will use 2 pages when fishing inside or outside the ferry same day. (for rod count).
Hey? Why do we need 2 lenghts. I would think overall is sufficient -thoughts?

I believe that Jim had said that you can use either the fork length or the total length. It is your choice.

Great idea to help gain perspective as to just how the fishery is doing.

Let's just hope that people keep their reports honest... and dont "pad their totals".

I met briefly with Jim Hoyle at his office on friday past, and he is very happy about the response from our angling community.Just thought I would pass this on,it is a worthwhile effort.

I received a message from Jim Hoyle asking that Anglers who participated in the diary program now hand in their diaries. Please make sure you do this asap.
thanks
