Weekend trip 10/6-10/7

Heading up for a weekend trip to Hay Bay and hope to bump into a few. Read some other posts and seems like the water is still warm and real low. We'll work the usual spots across the mouth of Hay Bay, Long Reach, and even around to Mallory. I realize the big ones haven't come home to roost yet. Has anyone broke out the snap weights yet and headed East of the ferry to probe some deeper water? Even worth the cost of gas?

Checked Windfinder and looks like its gonna be rockin' from the West on Saturday. Hope the weather pattern improves a bit.

Might be a bit early for the reach yet, you might consider hitting a kawartha lake for now. knocking them dead on rice the last few weeks, might be worth the trip there. I was down to the bay today and the water is way low!!! I don't ever recalling it being so far down this time of year.

Starting the 13th of October the International water board is going to start drawing down the st lawrence to put more water in Montreal Harbor...may continue to adversely affect Bay of Quinte also.

WOW ther're going to draw more water.

They drew down some in august and now more again. I wonder what the bay water levels will look like if we dont get some good snow this winter.

going to have to add another 20 ft on the dock?and leave the boat in the water because all the launches are dangerous as well

I have seen this on many reservoirs that have a 5 year winter drawdown. It is amazing how the walleye react to it. One reservoir that is normally trolled effectively with stickbaits I couldnt buy a bite. I had to resort to Jigging raps on the bottom. It may be different on a bigger body of water

I travel all through the southern states and the water level is extremely low everywhere. The ponds and rivers are like 15 feet below where they normally are, really bad this year for sure.

Water was way low but was able to launch and load at Sherman's. The fishing wasn't grand. Saw a bunch of big boats all over the reach from yellow buoy at Thompson's down toward the cement plant and all along the high bank.

Fished Sat until the bay was brewing big swells with no fish. Back out Sun with calm water all day. We were able to bring in 2 - 5 lber's and that was that. Both were caught over the 40 ft section of the reach heading south from Thompson's @ 2.0 MPH. Both were caught on TD9's Bleeding Olive even though we heard Blue is working
