This morning I went fishing at a local tributary upon arriving there was a man snagging salmon with 2 musky trebles on his line I told the man to either remove the hooks and fish properly or I was going to call the mnr needless to say he didn't remove the trebles so off to make a phone call I went. Upon calling the mnr there was a conservation officer there Within 10 minutes to deal with the matter. Don't let people abuse our resources it took only 1 phone call and 10 minutes time to get this *** delt with I was extremely happy to see such a quick response from the mnr. Don't let some ruin it for everyone

Good job, Uglystix.

I have a Conservation Officer's cell number on my cell phones speed dial. Haven't had the opportunity to use it yet.

Thanks
Al

Good for you Uglystix. It amazes me how some people think it is there right to abuse our fishery and do as they please without any regard for the future of fishing. Good Call....

WTG!!...maybe you could post the phone number of the /or a C.O.
Anytime I have tried to call the MNR I get an automated responce and not able to talk to a person.

Great job uglystix. I'm surprised you spoke to the guy, told him you were going to call MNR and he kept on snagging. Great to hear the CO actaully got there in time to bust that guy. Did they confiscate all his gear?

1-877-TIPS-MNR (847-7667) you will get a person on the phone, but maybe not a 10 minute response time to the scene

A neat deterrent in Alberta saw thousands and thousands of stickers with the TIPS line. They acted as a silent extra officer.

Thanks for calling this in. The CO staffing is far too light and I do wish they would be allowed to get creative in how they fund and manage our resources.

Alberta does it right with TIPS. I picked up a free boat ruler at the outdoors show with the TIPS number on it.
